Who's the Right Candidate for Entrepreneurial Success?

So, who’s the right person to be an entrepreneur? Is there such a thing? The truth is, just about anyone can be an entrepreneur if they put in the work. But it does take a certain type of person to become a successful entrepreneur. But the type of person that is the most successful at this can be found all over the world doing things in life that give them the skills that they need to be an entrepreneur. With attributes like drive, determination, patience, the ability to recognize a good idea and persistence many different types of people have what it takes to be an entrepreneur.

College Students: anyone who’s attended college knows that being a student can be one of the toughest periods of your life. Of course, it can also be one of the most rewarding since young adults are exploring their independence for the first time. But with all of the hard work that they have to put in with homework, attending classes and participating in school activities, college students have what it takes to be successful entrepreneurs.

Stay-at-Home Parents: another group that is perfect for the entrepreneurial is the stay-at-home parent. One thing that these people have going for them is the ability to sneak in some work when they aren’t caring for children, doing housework or running errands. A woman taking care of an infant might be able to get two hours of work in while the baby sleeping or other stay-at-home parents can work whether kids are in school.

Seniors: senior citizens are in a perfect position to become successful entrepreneurs. If they are retired, they have a lot of time on their hands, which combines perfectly with all of their skills and experience that they’ve gained throughout their life. Seniors who become entrepreneurs find not only financial benefits but also a rewarding activity to keep them busy during retirement.

Anyone can be an entrepreneur. Men and women both have an equal chance of becoming a successful entrepreneur, based upon their individual skills, and even children can start early and become entrepreneurs at any age – which can be seen in the occasional lemonade stand in your own neighborhood. No matter who you are or what your particular skills and abilities are, you have what it takes to become an entrepreneur. You just need a great idea and a lot of hard work.

Top Five Ways to Be the Best Service Provider You Can Be

Top Five Ways to Be the Best Service Provider You Can Be

If your entrepreneurial venture is being a service provider, you want to provide the best service possible and be the number one person that people go to when they need your particular service. There are a lot of various service providers on the Internet these days, no matter if you’re talking about freelance writing industry, graphic design, programming or any other service. There are professionals with huge price tags and sites like Fiverr that make some services incredibly cheap but no matter which part of the spectrum you’re at there are some great ways to be the best service writer possible.

1.    Don’t charge prices based on the market, especially if you’re trying to undercut the competition. Price your services based on what you think they’re worth and don’t worry if some people are willing to pay the price because you’ll find people looking for quality work like yours that are willing to pay good money for it.
2.    Be consistent with all of your clients even if they don’t know each other. Charge the same basic prices to all of the clients that you have, promise the same deadlines and don’t pick and choose policies based upon the client. If they ever do encounter each other you may lose both of them.
3.    Double and triple check your work before you send it out. Even catching one or two minor mistakes could mean the difference between a client coming back or not, or telling other people about your services. Take a few extra minutes with every single project and make sure it is 100% what the client wanted and that it is your absolute best work.
4.    Be okay with saying no. There may be some projects that you don’t want to work on and it doesn’t really matter what the reason is. You could have a moral objection or could be just too much work for the price that the person is willing to pay. The point is, be willing to say no to clients. They will respect you and not ask in the future.
5.    Figure out what people’s problems are and then try to solve them. If you can come up a solutions to people’s problems other than your regular services, you could make a great deal more money and could spark a business idea that will take you to the big-time.

Top 3 Business Strategies for Online Entrepreneurs

Top 3 Business Strategies for Online Entrepreneurs

So, you want to be a successful entrepreneur. But which business strategy do you choose? There seem to be so many out there, with each so-called guru touting a different philosophy, that it can be very difficult to narrow down a business strategy that actually works. However, when you remove all of the window dressing and break the strategies down to the basics there are only three that make up nearly all of the entrepreneurial ventures that are out there. Which one you choose will depend on your personal preference, your unique skills and where you see a hole in the market.

Service Providers

The first of our three top strategies is providing some type of service. There are many occupations that provide a service where someone can become an entrepreneur. Graphic design is one good example; freelance writing is another. Whenever you are doing a service for somebody else and they are paying you for it (while not in the employee of another person or company) you are an entrepreneur.

Affiliate Marketing

Another big boom in Internet entrepreneurship is affiliate marketing. With the creation of websites like Clickbank, the affiliate programs offered by leading retailers like Amazon and the big profits that could be potentially earned, affiliate marketing is one of the most popular entrepreneurial ventures today. With affiliate marketing, you find the customer, send them over to the seller to buy the product and the seller pays you a commission. Of course, you have to find the right product not to mention have a solid plan for getting in front of people that can be difficult.

Info Product Creation

Rather than being the person that receives the commission when someone buys a product from someone else, you could be the person that they are buying that product from. You could create an info product of some kind that you’ll be able to sell to the Internet at large. One of the more popular ways to do this is by publishing Kindle content on Amazon, but the products on Clickbank are also part of this strategy.

Combining Strategies

Of course, you don’t have to just stick with one. You could combine to of the above strategies or you could combine all three if you like. There are no rules when it comes to entrepreneurship. If you can create something that sells, or make money at something and be successful, you are an entrepreneur.

Three Big Advertising Mistakes That Will Submarine Your Business

Three Mistakes to Avoid When Advertising Your Services

Service providers are all over the Internet these days. You can find them on forums, advertising on Craigslist, using job boards like ProBlogger or on freelancing sites like E-Lance. There are lots of ways that you can advertise your services but one thing you want to keep in mind is that it’s easy to make mistakes if you haven’t ever advertise before. Here are three mistakes to avoid you’re considering advertising your services.

They Go with the Cheapest Service Possible:

If you’re going to advertise, you definitely shouldn’t go with the cheapest option that you have. As the saying goes, good things are cheap and cheap things are good. If you want effective advertising find out what is working for other people and use it even if it cost a little extra money. You will find that it is definitely worth it in the long run and you might get enough short-term results to make it worth it as well. Just as you wouldn’t want the cheapest doctor or dentist in town working on you, you don’t want the cheapest advertising service out there representing your business.

Not Doing Their Research

Another problem that freelancers and service providers have when it comes to advertising is that they just randomly pick a venue and start throwing money at it. What you should do, is make sure that an advertising method is actually going to work for your particular service and the other people have had results with the same type of advertising and the same company that you’re going with. Check out some expert advice on advertising in your particular niche, and get with other people that do the same thing that you do for recommendations – or at the very least read reviews before you spend any money.

They Don’t Do It at All

Believe it or not, the biggest mistake that service providers make is that they don’t do any advertising in all. Somehow they think that the word is his can get out there without them actually taking an aggressive role to spread the word. If you don’t have all the work you can handle right now, you should be advertising. Even if you don’t have a budget there ways that you can advertise for free until you can save enough to use an advertising service that will get you major results.

The Big Secret To Business Success

Successful Entrepreneurs Take Personal Responsibility

There are certain attributes that you can find with almost every successful entrepreneur out there. Drive and persistence are among those, but another huge one is their willingness to take personal responsibility for their life and their livelihood, which is why so many of them are successful. Have you ever met someone who believed that everything that happened to them was someone else’s fault even when it was clearly theirs? That kind of person will never be a successful entrepreneur because they believe that things happen to them instead of them making things happen, either positive or negative. So, how can you cultivate this personal responsibility to be a successful entrepreneur?

The World Owes You Nothing

Successful entrepreneurs feel as if the world is theirs for the taking, but they don’t feel like they are owed something by the world. They believe that if there is something that they want or need, the responsibility to go out and get it is theirs and theirs alone. They don’t believe that someone is going to come along and hand them a check, without a great deal of hard work beforehand. That’s why they are so good at recognizing opportunities – because they are looking for them, and they are willing to act when they see the opportunity present itself.

They Do Not act like Victims

There are people out there who have what is called a victim mentality, which simply means that they believe that some metaphysical someone – like fate – is out to get them, and that’s why they haven’t had the opportunities that other people have. They think of themselves as a victim and so have negative thoughts and beliefs which is an attribute not suited for entrepreneurship. Successful people know that when something bad happens it’s just chance, and they have the opportunity to rise above it.

They Learn from Their Mistakes and They Are Grateful

Finally, a successful entrepreneur not only has no problem making mistakes – they know it is going to happen whether they have a problem with that or not – the actually embrace their mistakes because they have the opportunity to learn something from them. When something bad happens, they considered a learning experience and they improve so that it doesn’t happen again in the future. Most of the time, entrepreneurs are very grateful for the learning opportunity as well, because they might have continued making that mistake if it hadn’t been brought to their attention.

How to Make the Most of a Failed Business Strategy

How to Make the Most of a Failed Business Strategy

In the world of entrepreneurship there are times when your strategy is going to fail. Obviously, your goal is to minimize this is much as possible and work as hard as you can to make a strategy work so that it doesn’t fail. But sometimes, there is nothing you can do to avoid it and you must cut your losses and move on. But before you go on to the next opportunity, you should know how to make the most of a failed strategy and learn from it so you’ll be better in the future.

Find out Why It Didn’t Work

Your first task is to find out why the strategy didn’t work. This might be difficult but it will be vital to not making the same mistake in the future. If you just shrug your shoulders and move on, you could make the same mistakes in the future that cause the strategy to fail. But if you know what mistakes you made, how to fix them or avoid them in the future, you’ll have a big head start towards connect opportunity. Keep in mind, it is usually a combination of several factors that make a strategy fail and not just one single problem.

Don’t Let Discouragement and Negativity Keep You from Moving Forward

Just because a business strategy failed doesn’t mean that you, personally, are a failure. In fact, the very fact that you failed shows that you’re willing to take a risk and put yourself out there. Most successful people fail several times before they get it right. If they had stopped after one or two failures they would’ve never gotten to the point they are today. A good example of this is novelist Stephen King. He had hundreds of rejection slips posted on his wall before finally getting published and now he’s the most successful novelist of the 20th century.

Find out What Did Work

Finally, you’re going to break down the strategy as you’re looking for reasons that it failed and find out what things did work. You can use those same things in the future when you’re ready to begin a new strategy. Knowing what worked and what didn’t can be a powerful asset in your next endeavor and understanding what actually did work can teach you just as much is figuring out what didn’t work about a strategy.
